Who comes to Sioux Trails?

                 Residents of Brown, Nicollet,
                  Sibley, and Watonwan
                  counties are our primary target
                     population and may receive
                            services regardless of
                              ability to pay.
                               Residents of other
                                counties are eligible
                                 if they have health
                                 insurance or if they
                                  pay full fee.


When did the center begin?

Sioux Trails opened in 1966.  The agency
is fully certified and is a private, non-
profit organization.  Services are available
in six communities, and when
appropriate, in the client's home,
worksite, school, or community.
How do I know if I need help?

If you feel you need help with your feelings,
relationships or marriage,, anger issues, or
life skills, call us for a consultation.
Our professionals can help you
understand how to proceed.


Do I need to have been
diagnosed with a major
mental health issue prior
to calling Sioux Trails?

No.  People call Sioux Trails for a wide
variety of reasons.  Perhaps you lost a job,
experienced a family death, have anger
issues from a divorce, have depression
issues, or are looking for additional
resources.  If you have any questions on
whether or not you need a mental health
professional, talk with your doctor, or
contact us for more information
or a consultation.

What happens when I call?

A receptionist will make an appointment for an initial consultation with a professional therapist.  This worker can help to understand the nature of the problem, whether the problem is best handled in one-to-one sessions, in group therapy, or family sessions.

How do I pay?


Fees for services may be covered by insurance, Medical Assistance, Medicare, a personal check, or cash.  Services are available without regard to income and family size to Brown, Nicollet, Sibley, and Watonwan counties. Sliding fee scales may be available to clients from these counties.

Co-pays and deductible payments are to be made at the time of the appointment.  For clients who do not reside in one of the four counties listed above and do not have insurance, full fees will apply
